This is a bright, festive bandhanwar for your main door with two Ganesh motifs at its heart. The band is patterned with rows of red, yellow, green, pink and blue diamonds, and below it hang green and red leaf shapes, sparkling kundan-style drops and soft yellow pom-poms.

It measures about 90 cm across and hangs from fabric loops on the top edge. Of our bandhanwars, this is the most colourful one, made for a doorway that should look like a celebration.

Ganesh over the threshold

Ganesh is Vighnaharta, the remover of obstacles, and he is honoured first at every new beginning. Placing his image over the entrance is an old way of asking for a smooth path for everyone who walks in.

The two Ganesh motifs sit either side of the centre, so they face the door from both halves of the frame. Families hang this style for Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri and a Grah Pravesh.

For homes in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ajman

At about 90 cm this fits the single front door of most UAE apartments and villas without overhanging the frame. The yellow pom-poms read like a marigold toran from down the corridor, and they will not wilt the way fresh genda does in the heat.

We deliver across the UAE, and at AED 75 this qualifies for free delivery. For the rest of your festive door and mandir, browse our Diwali range. If you prefer embroidered lettering, see the Shri Ganeshaya Namah bandhanwar.

Questions people ask

What size is it?

About 90 cm from end to end, which suits a standard single door. On a wide double door it sits centred above the frame.

How do I hang it?

There are fabric loops along the top edge. Hang them on small nails, cup hooks or adhesive hooks.

Are the pom-poms real flowers?

No. They are soft yellow pom-poms that give the marigold look without wilting, so the bandhanwar lasts through the whole season and beyond.

Is it only for Diwali?

No. With Ganesh on it, it suits Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri, a Grah Pravesh or a wedding house, and many families leave it up all year.

Can I use it indoors?

Yes. It looks lovely over a mandir arch or a living room doorway as well as on the main door.

How do I clean it?

Dust it with a soft dry brush or shake it out gently. Do not machine wash it, as the drops, beads and pom-poms can come loose.

Is it a good housewarming gift?

Yes. A Ganesh bandhanwar is one of the most traditional gifts for a new home, and it arrives ready to hang.
