Divine Sansar Natural Soil (Mitti) is a 750 g pack of clean soil for sowing jau at Navratri and for any pooja that calls for mitti. It spreads into an even bed across our 21 cm clay tray, which is all the depth barley needs to grow a full, green jawara by Navami.
Finding plain soil for a home pooja is surprisingly hard in a Dubai apartment, and garden-centre potting mix is full of fertiliser and bark. This is simple mitti, packed for ritual use and delivered to your door.
How it is used
- Navratri jau sowing - spread the soil in a shallow clay tray, scatter jau over it and tend the jawara beside your kalash through the nine days.
- Ghatasthapana and kalash sthapana - a bed of mitti under or around the kalash, as many family traditions ask.
- Other ceremonies - any pooja, griha pravesh or vrat that calls for a little earth on the altar.

Frequently asked questions
Is 750 g of soil enough to grow jau?
Yes. Jau is shallow-rooted and grows well from a thin, even bed. 750 g covers a 21 cm tray, which is the size most families use for Navratri jawara.
When should I sow the jau?
On the first day of Navratri, at Ghatasthapana. Spread the soil, scatter the jau close together, cover lightly and sprinkle water each morning.
How much water does the soil need?
Keep it damp, never soaked. A light sprinkle once a day is enough. In UAE air conditioning the top layer dries quickly, so check it each morning.
Can I use this soil for other pooja rituals?
Yes. It works for kalash sthapana, griha pravesh and any pooja that calls for mitti on the altar.
Is this the same soil as in the Jau Sowing Kit?
The kit includes a 750 g pack of soil too, together with the clay tray and a jar of jau seeds. Buy this pack on its own if you already have a tray and seeds.
What do I do with the soil after Navratri?
Many families return the jawara and soil to the earth, in a garden bed or a plant pot, rather than throwing it away. Follow your family custom.
