What is inside (30 ingredients across 3 categories)

Herbs and Roots (9): Nagarmotha, Jatamansi, Kapur Kachri, Sugandh Bala, Sugandh Mantri, Indrajau, Kushtha, Giloy, Brahmi.

Spices and Grain with Husks (9): Til (black and white sesame), Jau (barley with husk), Akshat (unbroken rice), Gehun (wheat with husk), Laung (cloves), Elaichi (green cardamom), Jaiphal (whole nutmeg), Tej Patta (bay leaf), Dalchini (cinnamon bark).

Dry Fruits and Aromatics (12): Almonds, Cashews, Chironji, Dry coconut, Gur (jaggery), Mishri (rock sugar), Sandalwood powder, Guggul, Loban, Camphor (Kapoor), Rose petals, Rose attar.

How to use

1. Open the jar and take a moment to take in the aroma
2. Spoon out the quantity you need into a small brass mixing bowl
3. Add pure cow ghee (and a small spoon of honey if your tradition includes it) and gently mix with a wooden spoon
4. Light the havan kund with mango wood samidha and let the fire establish
5. Offer small spoonfuls of the ghee-mixed samagri into the fire as ahuti, accompanied by your mantras
6. Re-seal the jar tightly after use to keep the remaining samagri fresh

We deliberately do not pre-mix ghee or honey into the blend so the samagri stays fresh from the day it is packed to the day you open it.

How much do you need

• 100g jar: Short home havan or daily ahuti (20 to 30 minutes, around 25 to 40 offerings)
• 250g jar: Standard Grah Pravesh or full home ritual (45 to 60 minutes)
• For longer rituals like a complete Navagraha or Mrityunjaya Havan, plan for 500g to 1kg

Real Vedic samagri is roughly two to three times denser than cheap sawdust-based blends, so you need less by weight to cover the same number of ahutis. A small jar lasts longer than you would expect.

Do I need to add ghee separately?
Yes. We deliberately do not pre-mix ghee or honey into the blend because both reduce shelf life. Mixing them in at puja time keeps the samagri fresh for months and gives you full control over your ritual.

How long does an opened jar stay fresh?
With the lid sealed tightly between uses, an opened jar holds its fragrance and quality for 6 to 9 months. Store away from direct sunlight and high heat.

Is this suitable for apartment use in Dubai or Abu Dhabi?
Yes. Real ayurvedic samagri burns cleaner than cheap sawdust-based blends, so the smoke is more comfortable in a sealed apartment with central AC. The natural compounds in herbs like guggul, loban and sandalwood are the original reason havan was associated with air purification.

Can I use this for specific deity havans like Lakshmi or Mrityunjaya?
Yes. This is a complete classical Vedic blend that works for all standard havan and yagna rituals. For very specific tantric or specialised pujas, your pandit may recommend additional ingredients alongside this base.

Is the recipe safe for children and pregnant women in the household?
Yes. All ingredients are natural, food-grade or traditional ayurvedic. The smoke is mild and aromatic, not chemical. Standard ventilation is recommended as with any indoor fire ritual.
