The left-curved trunk

The trunk on this murti curves to the left. In the Vamamukhi form the idol is considered gentle and forgiving in daily worship, which is why it is the form most commonly kept at home rather than in a temple. The right-curved Dakshinavarti form carries stricter ritual requirements and is usually installed by a priest.

Why polyresin

Polyresin takes fine detail the way brass and clay cannot at this size. The folds of the jata, the curve of each ear and the line of the janeu all stay crisp on a 6 cm figure. It is also unbreakable in ordinary use, which matters for a murti that sits in a car or gets handled by children during pooja.

It is not a heat item. Keep it away from a burning diya or an agarbatti flame, and wipe it with a dry or slightly damp cloth rather than a cleaning liquid.

Where to keep it
