Hanuman Sindoor is the bright orange sindoor offered to Lord Hanuman on Tuesdays and Saturdays, used for chola on the murti and as a tilak after pooja. Divine Sansar packs it in two sizes: a 10gm glass bottle for the home mandir and a 100gm glass jar for regular chola, temple seva or family pooja. Both ship from Dubai across the UAE.

Why Hanuman Ji Is Offered Sindoor

A well-loved story from the Ramayana tradition tells of Hanuman seeing Mata Sita apply sindoor for Lord Rama's long life. Reasoning that if a little brings blessings, more must bring more, he covered himself in it from head to toe. Ever since, orange sindoor has been the offering most closely tied to Bajrangbali.

Devotees often mix the sindoor with a little chameli (jasmine) oil to make chola and apply it to the murti, then take a small tilak on the forehead as prasad.

Choose Your Size

• 10gm - a small glass bottle, right for a home mandir, a travel pooja kit or a first offering.
• 100gm - a square glass jar with a screw lid, for weekly chola, larger murtis, temple seva or sharing across the family.

How to Offer Sindoor to Hanuman Ji

• Bathe or wipe the murti clean and light a diya.
• Mix a small amount of sindoor with a few drops of chameli oil into a smooth paste.
• Apply it to the murti with your fingers while chanting Hanuman Chalisa or "Om Hanumate Namah".
• Take a small tilak for yourself and share it with the family.

For the oil, our Chameli Ka Tel is the traditional pairing. See the full Hanumanji Specials range for chola, diya and pooja essentials.

Also Used for Chhath Puja

Orange sindoor is also central to Chhath, where women apply a long line of it from the nose to the parting as a blessing for the family. The 100gm jar is a practical size when several women in the family are observing the vrat together.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Hanuman sindoor and regular sindoor?

Hanuman sindoor is the bright orange sindoor offered to Hanuman Ji and used for chola. The deep red sindoor worn by married women in the hair parting is a different product.

Which size should I buy?

The 10gm bottle lasts a home mandir several weeks of Tuesday and Saturday offerings. Choose the 100gm jar for weekly chola on a larger murti, temple seva or Chhath.

How do I make chola for Hanuman Ji?

Mix the sindoor with a few drops of chameli oil until it forms a smooth paste, then apply it to the murti with your fingers.

On which days is sindoor offered to Hanuman Ji?

Tuesday and Saturday are the traditional days, along with Hanuman Jayanti and during Sundarkand or Hanuman Chalisa path.

Can I use this sindoor for Chhath Puja?

Yes. The orange sindoor applied from the nose to the parting during Chhath is the same colour, and many families buy the 100gm jar for the festival.

How should I store sindoor?

Keep the lid closed and store it in a cool, dry place away from water so the powder stays loose and bright.
