This is a set of six hand-painted square clay diyas, each 7 x 7 cm, packed in a window gift box. Every diya carries a deep maroon and purple base, a white mandala, yellow petal strokes along the rim and a gold dot at the centre, so the six look like a matched set on your pooja thali or entrance.

Light them with ghee or oil and a cotton wick, or set a tealight inside for an easy Diwali glow. Unlit, they are just as pretty on a shelf or a dining table through the festive season.

What is in the box

• 6 hand-painted square clay diyas, 7 x 7 cm each
• A window gift box with a foil-printed border and divided compartments, shrink-wrapped
• Wicks, oil and tealights are not included

Why a square diya

Most mitti diyas are round with a spout. The square shape sits flat and steady in rows, which makes it easy to line a doorway, a staircase or a rangoli border without the diyas rolling or tipping. Because each piece is painted by hand, you will see small differences in the brushwork from one diya to the next. That is the mark of a handmade piece, not a flaw.

How to use and care for them

• For an oil lamp, add a small amount of ghee or oil and a cotton wick. Do not overfill, so the painted rim stays clean.
• For a tealight, drop a standard tealight into the bowl.
• Do not soak or wash these diyas in water. The paint is decorative and water can lift it. Wipe with a dry cloth.
• Never leave a lit diya unattended, and keep it away from curtains and children.

Frequently asked questions

How big is each diya?

Each diya is 7 x 7 cm, a comfortable size for ghee, oil or a standard tealight.

Are the diyas really hand-painted?

Yes. Each one is painted by hand, so the patterns match closely but no two are exactly alike.

Can I light them with oil?

Yes. Add a little ghee or oil and a cotton wick. Many families also use them with tealights for a quicker, cleaner option.

Can I wash them?

Please do not soak or wash them. Wipe them with a dry cloth so the paint stays bright for next year.

Does the set come in a gift box?

Yes. All six diyas come in a window gift box with separate compartments, ready to hand over.

Are wicks included?

No. Wicks, oil and tealights are sold separately. You can add cotton wicks from our pooja essentials range.

Do you deliver across the UAE?

Yes. We deliver to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman and the rest of the UAE, with free delivery on orders from AED 30.
