A Gomukhi bag is the traditional cotton pouch that keeps your japa mala private and pure while you chant. How to use it
Place your mala inside the bag with the sumeru (head bead) near the opening. Slide your right hand in, rest your thumb on the outside and move each bead with your middle finger as you chant. When you finish, draw the mala back inside and close it with the tie.
