The Verse on This Frame

कृष्णाय वासुदेवाय हरये परमात्मने । प्रणतक्लेशनाशाय गोविन्दाय नमो नमः ॥

Krishnaya Vasudevaya Haraye Paramatmane, Pranata-klesha-nashaya Govindaya Namo Namah

"Again and again we offer our obeisances unto Lord Krishna, Hari, the son of Vasudeva. That Supreme Soul, Govinda, vanquishes the suffering of all who surrender to Him."

The verse is from the Srimad Bhagavatam, Canto 10, chapter 73, verse 16. It is spoken by the kings whom Shree Krishna had just released from Jarasandha's prison, offered in gratitude at the moment of their freedom. The line the verse turns on, pranata-klesha-nashaya, means "destroyer of the distress of those who bow", which is why it is chosen so often for a home altar.

One line names Krishna five ways: Krishna, Vasudeva the son of Vasudeva, Hari, Paramatma the Supreme Self, and Govinda.

Why Pyrite

Pyrite is iron disulphide, FeS2, a cubic mineral that grows as sharp cubes and pyritohedra with finely striated faces. It is hard and heavy for its size, Mohs 6 to 6.5, and its brass to gun-metal lustre is why it earned the name fool's gold. Gold is soft and bends; pyrite is brittle and fractures, which is how the two are told apart.

In Indian and Feng Shui practice alike, pyrite is traditionally associated with abundance, drive and grounded, steady energy. All of this is tradition and energy alignment with intention, never a medical claim or a promised outcome.

Best directions for placement:

• Northeast (Ishan Kon) - The sacred direction for deities and meditation. The most auspicious placement.
• North - Associated with wealth and spiritual flow.

In Feng Shui, the north-east is also linked to inner wisdom and self-cultivation (Gen gua), which makes it a meaningful placement for households following both traditions.

Mount on a wall at eye level (around 5 to 5.5 feet), or place on a clean raised surface such as a pooja altar, office table, or family prayer console. Always keep the frame on a raised surface, never directly on the floor. Avoid bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and the south wall (traditionally not recommended for deity placement).

How to Activate It

Auspicious days to install: Wednesday, traditionally associated with Lord Krishna. Janmashtami and Ekadashi are especially auspicious.

• Wipe the frame with a soft, dry cloth. Do not wash it.
• Place the frame on a clean yellow cloth, the colour traditionally associated with Lord Krishna.
• Set it in soft morning sunlight for 15 to 30 minutes, or light an incense stick or oil lamp nearby.
• Sit in front of the frame, take three slow breaths, then recite with folded hands: "Krishnaya Vasudevaya Haraye Paramatmane, Pranata-klesha-nashaya Govindaya Namo Namah" - traditionally eleven times, or one round of 108 on a tulsi or rudraksha mala.
• Speak your wish in your own words, or simply offer the verse as it is.
• Mount or place the frame in its chosen spot. Your activation is complete.
