About Radha Krishna

Radha and Krishna together represent the purest form of love and devotion in the Hindu tradition. Krishna, known as Kanha, Murlidhar, Gopala and Kannan, is the flute-playing cowherd of Vrindavan whose music draws the heart towards the divine. Radha is his eternal companion and the very embodiment of bhakti.

Because they are worshipped as one, families keep their image together in the mandir for love, harmony and peace within the home. The frame is brought forward for Janmashtami, Radha Ashtami and Kartik month, and many couples keep it in the bedroom or the living room as a blessing on their marriage.

Why families across UAE choose this frame

  • A4 is the practical pooja size: Large enough to be the focal point of a home mandir, compact enough for an apartment pooja shelf.
  • Hang or stand: Works on a mandir wall, a shelf, or a Janmashtami setup laid out on a table for the day.
  • Shatterproof, not glass: Clear protection for the print with no risk of shattering in transit or at home.
  • A blessing on the home: Radha and Krishna together are traditionally invoked for love, harmony and understanding between family members.
  • Multi-purpose: Daily darshan, Janmashtami, Radha Ashtami, Kartik month and Ekadashi.
  • Gift-ready: A meaningful wedding, anniversary, housewarming or Grah Pravesh gift.

Where to place the frame at home (Vastu)

  • North-east corner of the home or mandir: The traditional zone for worship.
  • Facing east or north: Position so the worshipper faces east or north while praying.
  • Above eye level: Place the deities above the worshipper's natural sight line.
  • Bedroom or living room: Radha Krishna is one of the few images traditionally welcomed in the bedroom, for harmony between a couple.
  • Avoid: South-facing walls, bathroom-adjacent walls and storerooms.

How to use

  1. Wipe the front sheet gently with a dry cloth before placing the frame.
  2. Hang it on the mandir wall, or rest it on your pooja shelf, facing east or north.
  3. Light a diya and incense, offer tulsi leaves, flowers, butter or makhan mishri, and chant "Hare Krishna" or "Radhe Radhe".
  4. On Janmashtami, place the frame at the centre of your pooja setup for darshan through the night.
  5. Distribute prasad to the family and any guests present.

Care

  • Wipe the front sheet with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners and rough sponges, which can scratch it.
  • Keep away from direct sunlight to preserve the print colour.
  • Avoid moisture and humidity. Do not hang it where rain spray can reach it.

Frequently asked questions

Who is shown in this frame?

Shri Krishna playing the flute in Vrindavan with Shri Radha Rani beside him, along with the peacock, the cows and the Yamuna in the background.

What size is the frame?

The A4 frame measures 21 x 30 cm. That is a comfortable focal size for a home mandir, a pooja shelf, or a mandir wall in an apartment.

Can I hang it on the wall or does it only stand?

Both. The frame is made to hang on a wall hook and also to stand on a flat shelf, so you can move it between your mandir wall and your pooja setup as needed.

Is the front glass?

No. It is a clear shatterproof sheet rather than glass. It protects the print just as clearly, keeps the frame light, and will not shatter, which matters both in transit and in a home with children.

Can I keep a Radha Krishna frame in the bedroom?

Yes. Radha Krishna is one of the few devotional images traditionally welcomed in the bedroom, as their union is associated with love and harmony between a couple. Keep it on a clean wall and not facing the foot of the bed.

Which day and festival suit Krishna worship?

Wednesday and Thursday are commonly observed for Krishna, and Ekadashi is auspicious. Janmashtami marks his birth, and Radha Ashtami, which follows fifteen days later, is dedicated to Radha Rani.

Does it make a good gift?

Yes. Because Radha and Krishna represent love and devotion, it is a popular wedding, anniversary, engagement and housewarming gift, and the A4 size feels substantial enough to give.
