Origin of Rishi Panchami
As per some mythological facts, once there lived a “brahmin” with his family in the country named Vidarbha. He has a wife, a son, and a daughter in his family. His daughter was married to a well-known cultural brahmin. However, her husband died before the age of death. Therefore, it was the premature death of her husband, so she had to lead the life of a widow. Therefore, she had to return to her father’s house and start living there again. After some days, the girl got worms all over her body, and her parents and family got tension. Therefore, her parents went to Rishi to get the solution to this problem.
That enlightened Rishi gets to know all the past life facts of the Brahmin’s daughters after peeping into her past lives. Then he told the Brahmin that his daughter breached any religious norms in her past life so she had his problem. She touched any kitchen items or utensils while suffering from menstruation or period. For this, she got some sin, and this problem has been created, which is reflected in her present days. So Rishi prescribed that their daughter must follow the Rishi Panchami Vrat to eliminate this sin.
After this, Brahmi and his wife go back home and do all the activities as per the words of that Rishi. In addition, by doing this entire, Brahmin’s daughter recovers from these worms.
Due to this, until now, women fast on Rishi Panchami to get rid of all the sins they may get mistakenly or unknowingly.
