The celebration that is Vivah Panchami falls on the fifth day of the Hindu calendar month Agrahayana (December-January) within the Shukla Paksha. According to legend, it is believed that Lord Rama travelled to Janakpur (in Nepal) for the Swayamvar ceremony of Goddess Sita breaking Bow (Dhanush) from Lord Shiva to marry Goddess Sita.

Vivah Panchami is the day marked as the wedding anniversary of goddess Sita as well as Lord Rama because there is a belief that the couple were married on the day. Vivah Panchami is the fifth day of the Hindu month Margashirsha within the Shukla Paksha. Like any Hindu wedding, the celebrations and rituals of this day commence several days prior.

There is a belief it is believed that Lord Rama represents the embodiment of Lord Vishnu who travelled to Janakpurdham within Nepal and also in the Swayamvar of Goddess Sita He cut off the bow (Dhanush) of Lord Shiva and then got engaged to Goddess Sita. To commemorate the ceremony of the most divine wedding there are a lot of pilgrims who come from all over India and from other nations and take part in the celebrations of grandeur.

The celebrations of Vivah Pantchamitake take occur all over India across all regions of Ram-Sita’s temples. The holiest and extravagant celebrations can be witnessed in the lands of Ayodhya where the place of birth Lord Rama as well as at Janakpur in Nepal the birthplace of goddess Sita. On this blessed day, temples are decorated with lights and lamps. A beautiful wedding ceremony occurs in which the statues or idols of gods are decorated with clothes and jewellery and the celebration is well-known as “Ram Vivah Ulahutsav.”

Pujan Vidhi for Vivah panchami
Get a bath during the early morning hours of Panchami Tithi. Then, after you’ve dressed in clean clothes, try to meditate about Shri Ram. Cleanse by sprinkles of Gangajal on a wall and then sit down.
- Install the Lord’s idol Rama Mata Sita, Lord Rama at the outpost.
- Provide yellow clothing for Ram Ji and red clothes to Sita Ji.
- Do tilak by lighting a lamp. worship by offering fruit and flowers, naivedya.
- When you worship while worshipping, recite the wedding incident that is recited in Balkand.
- When you recite Ramcharitmanas today, joy and peace are guaranteed.
विवाह पंचमी के लिए पूजन विधि
पंचमी तिथि के प्रात:काल में स्नान कर लें। फिर स्वच्छ वस्त्र धारण करने के बाद श्रीराम का ध्यान करने का प्रयास करें। दीवार पर गंगाजल छिड़क कर साफ करें और फिर बैठ जाएं।
- चौकी पर भगवान की मूर्ति राम माता सीता, भगवान राम को स्थापित करें।
- राम जी को पीला वस्त्र और सीता जी को लाल वस्त्र प्रदान करें।
- दीप जलाकर तिलक करें।
- फल और फूल, नैवेद्य चढ़ाकर पूजा करें।
- पूजा करते समय पूजा करते समय बालकाण्ड में सुनाई गई विवाह घटना का पाठ करें।
- जब आप आज रामचरितमानस का पाठ करते हैं, तो आनंद और शांति सुनिश्चित होती है।
About Lord Rama
Lord Rama is among the most revered gods in Hinduism. It is believed that he was the seventh Lord Vishnu. Lord Rama came into the world in Treta Yuga out of four cycles of Yugas mentioned in the scriptures of religion.
