Mangala Gauri Vrat Katha
A merchant by the name of Dharmapala and his spouse used to reside in a town. In addition to his wife’s great intelligence and virtue, there was no shortage of wealth in their home. Every form of bliss filled his life, save for one.
Dharmapala was childless himself. He and his spouse would do several fasts, rituals, and acts of charity. This was done in order to conceive. The merchant’s good deeds pleased God. Eventually, he received a child as a blessing. Astrologers foretold that shortly after the child’s birth, he would die from a snakebite in his sixteenth year of life. This prediction short-lived the father’s happiness.
Even though Dharmapala was in great distress, he gave God his whole concern. He arranged for his son to wed a stunning woman. It is noteworthy that the girl received unwavering good fortune because her mother observed the Mangla Gauri fast. Her mother’s observance of the fast endowed her with this blessing. Dharmapala’s son was granted a long and happy life as a result of this fast.
Mangala Gauri Pooja Vidhi
Beginning on the first Tuesday of the month of Shravan, women who fast should make a commitment to themselves. Following a bath or other ritual, worshipers set the idol or picture of Mangala Gauri on a wooden plate. They cover it with a crimson cloth early on the first Tuesday of the month of Shravan.
Worshipers constructed sixteen goddesses of wheat and arranged nine planets made of rice on the crimson cloth on the plate. Worshipers establish the Kalash by arranging the flowers and rice on one side of the plate. As per the guidelines for Mangla Gauri Puja, keep some water in the vase.
After that, manufacturers produce and ignite four sticks with 16 strings apiece to create a lamp made of wheat flour. Initially, worshippers honor Lord Ganesha. Offerings to Lord Ganesha during this worship include water, roli, mouli, sandalwood, vermilion, betel nut, betel leaf, rice, flowers, cardamom, belpatra, fruits, dry fruits, and Dakshina.
