The first day of the five-day-long Diwali rituals is known as Dhantrayodashi or Dhanteras. People worship God and Goddess of Wealth — Lakshmi and Kubera — for they believe that on this day she had emerged from the ocean during the churning of milk. Lakshmi puja on Amavasya, two days after Dhantrayodashi, is regarded as important and is observed as Diwali.

Dhanteras Muhurat For Buying Gold
This season, the Dhanteras celebration is bringing with it a really fortunate coincidence. Due to the fact that Trayodashi Tithi will begin on October 29 at 09:01 AM and terminate on October 30 at 11:45 AM as per your location and region.
In this case, shopping would take place the first day at night and the second day all day. Worship to Dhanvantari Dev, Lakshmi, and Kuber, as well as the purchase of gold, silver, and household items, are all purchased on this day.
Perform Dhanteras Laxmi Puja during Sthir Lagna
If Dhanteras Puja is done during Sthir Lagna, Lakshmiji will stay in your home; hence this time is the best for Dhanteras Pujan. Vrishabha Lagna is considered as Sthir and mostly overlaps with Pradosh Kaal during Diwali festivity.
Significance of Dhanteras
From the day of Dhanteras, Deepotsav i.e. Diwali begins. On this day, there is a law to worship Goddess Lakshmi, the wealthy treasurer Kuber, and Lord Dhanvantari, the goddess of wealth. It is believed that there is no dearth of money in the house by worshipping methodically on this day. According to mythology, Lord Dhanvantari appeared on this day with an urn of nectar in his hands during the churning of the ocean. That is why he is worshipped on this day. There is a tradition of buying utensils on this day because when Lord Dhanvantari appeared, he had a Kalash in his hands.
